Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Henry George Hine could be acquired at Christies in London in April 2013 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work View Of The South Downs, Near Eastbourne, Sussex changed hands for GBP 1,187.50 (€ 1,401.32) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Admittedly, works by Henry George Hine have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Chain Pier, Brighton, during the hurricane, 24 November 1824 in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 6,572.50 (€ 9,781.85).
