In June 2004 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper including Victorian Watercolours from, which included the work The Downs near Eastbourne by Henry George Hine. It changed hands for a price of GBP 4,780.00 (€ 7,114.07) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Other works by Henry George Hine have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2004 the work The Chain Pier, Brighton, during the hurricane, 24 November 1824 was auctioned for GBP 6,572.50 (€ 9,781.85).

Im Juni 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Art on Paper including Victorian Watercolours from durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Downs near Eastbourne von Henry George Hine zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 4.780,00 (€ 7.114,07) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Henry George Hine konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Juni 2004 die Arbeit The Chain Pier, Brighton, during the hurricane, 24 November 1824 für GBP 6.572,50 (€ 9.781,85) versteigert.
