Richly descriptive monograph on the coraciidae, or the rollers, by the important British ornithologist H.E. Dresser (1838-1915). The present copy features an inscription from Dresser to Colonel Magrath.

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May last year Sothebys in London held the auction The Library of Henry Rogers Broughton, 2nd Baron Fairhaven Part I, which included the work A monograph of the coraciidae, 1893 by Henry Eeles Dresser. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,788.00 (€ 5,632.63), 20% above the upper estimate. Other works by Henry Eeles Dresser have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 6,300.00 (€ 7,411.35) in May last year for the work A history of the birds in Europe, 1871 [-1882|AID711761].
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Library of Henry Rogers Broughton, 2nd Baron Fairhaven Part I durch, in der auch die Arbeit A monograph of the coraciidae, 1893 von Henry Eeles Dresser zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.788,00 (€ 5.632,63) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Andere Arbeiten von Henry Eeles Dresser haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.300,00 (€ 7.411,35) im Mai letzten Jahres für die Arbeit A history of the birds in Europe, 1871 [-1882|AID711761] beobachtet.
