Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Henry Clifford could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Watercolours including Original auction, the work The bowling green at Barford; Entrance to Barford Park; Near Barford Park (illustrated); and Cattle grazing at Barford Park (illustrated) changed hands for GBP 597.50 (€ 902.95) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Clifford - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ladies Doubles, Barford, which sold at auction in June 2004 for GBP 2,031.50 (€ 3,023.48).
