In September this year Bonhams in New York held the auction 19th Century and British Impressionist Art, which included the work Market day by Henry Charles Bryant. The price achieved of GBP 11,520.00 (€ 11,520.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Market day is the most expensive artwork by Henry Charles Bryant that we have observed at auctions so far.
