Dirom, facing left in white dress with light blue jacket, lace-bordered white cap in her powdered hair tied under her chin sold for GBP 1,434.00 (€ 2,201.26) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Admittedly, works by Henry Burch have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of Miss Helen Grant, As A Child in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 7,750.00 (€ 9,880.15).
