Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Feeding The Birds; The Love Letter by Henry Andrews was sold in the The Gyrn Castle House Sale, North Wales.Property from Gyrn Castle, Nantlys, Mostyn Hall and Capesthorne Hall auction at Christies in London in July 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,400.00 (€ 7,904.97) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Andrews - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A fête champêtre, with courtly figures dancing, which sold at auction in June 2002 for GBP 16,730.00 (€ 25,877.52).
