In January 2005 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work The Virgin Mary with Christ and John the Baptist by Henricus Engelbertus Reijntjens. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 4,800.00 60% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Henricus Engelbertus Reijntjens; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The toast sold at auction in January 2005 with the realized price of EUR 5,760.00.

Im Januar 2005 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Virgin Mary with Christ and John the Baptist von Henricus Engelbertus Reijntjens zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 4.800,00 und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Henricus Engelbertus Reijntjens; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The toast im Januar 2005 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 5.760,00.
