Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2007 Sothebys in Amsterdam held the auction Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work Summertime by Henri van Seben. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 1,625.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henri van Seben - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Little thieves, which sold at auction in January 2008 for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,686.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2007 führte Sothebys in Amsterdam die Auktion Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Summertime von Henri van Seben zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 1.625,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Henri van Seben mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Little thieves beobachtet, die im Januar 2008 für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.686,49) versteigert wurde.
