Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2008 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work La lecture by Henri Ottmann. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,461.24) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Henri Ottmann have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gare Du Luxembourg, Gel. in February 2019 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 29,163.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit La lecture von Henri Ottmann zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.461,24) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henri Ottmann auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gare Du Luxembourg, Gel. im Februar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 29.163,37).
