Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2003 Christies in London held the auction Important Gold Boxes,Objects of Vertu & Portrait Miniatures, which included the work Rembrandt's Father, in silver breast plate, black cloak, wearing a medal on a gold chain suspended over his shoulders, drop gold earring, black plumed hat by Henri L'Evêque. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 700.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 776.75 (€ 1,100.16). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri L'Evêque achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View Of The Forum With The Arch Of Septimus Severus in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 11,941.23).
