Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 940.00 (€ 1,508.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henri Joseph Hesse - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A young officer, facing right in scarlet coat with silver-embroidered blue facings and silver epaulette, frilled white stock and black cravat, which sold at auction in November 2001 for GBP 2,350.00 (€ 3,739.59).
