Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Vanitas: A scholar at work by a table by a column, visited by Truth while Time and Death appear in the background by Hendrick Heerschop was sold in the PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS INCL. COPIES AFTER OMPIX auction at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2001. The price achieved of EUR 2,820.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 2,300.00 – 3,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hendrick Heerschop achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beim Arzt. in March this year with an auction result of CHF 189,400.00 (€ 190,828.51).
