Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Two woman and a dog on a river bank near a village by Hendrick Avercamp was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2002, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 10,575.00 (€ 17,110.07). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hendrick Avercamp achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Panoramic Winter Landscape With A Multitude Of Figures On A Frozen River in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 5,010,500.00 (€ 6,319,815.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Two woman and a dog on a river bank near a village von Hendrick Avercamp im April 2002 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 10.575,00 (€ 17.110,07) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hendrick Avercamp erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Panoramic Winter Landscape With A Multitude Of Figures On A Frozen River im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.010.500,00 (€ 6.319.815,87).
