Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Hema Upadhyay could be acquired at Christies in New York in March 2009 for an unexpectedly low price. In the South Asian Modern and Contemporary Art auction, this work without title changed hands for USD 2,750.00 (€ 2,073.75) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hema Upadhyay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2008 with an auction result of HKD 1,027,500.00 (€ 84,590.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hema Upadhyay konnte im März 2009 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion South Asian Modern and Contemporary Art wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 2.750,00 (€ 2.073,75) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hema Upadhyay erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.027.500,00 (€ 84.590,46).
