Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2009 Phillips in London held the auction Contemporary Art Evening, which included the work Killing Site V by Hema Upadhyay. The price achieved of GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,777.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hema Upadhyay - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in May 2008 for HKD 1,027,500.00 (€ 84,590.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2009 führte Phillips in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Evening durch, in der auch die Arbeit Killing Site V von Hema Upadhyay zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 23.750,00 (€ 26.777,37) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Hema Upadhyay mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für HKD 1.027.500,00 (€ 84.590,46) versteigert wurde.
