The work Inauguration of a Vestal Virgin by Louis Hector Leroux was sold in the Old Masters and 19th Century Art auction at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2012. The price achieved of EUR 5,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Inauguration of a Vestal Virgin is the most expensive artwork by Louis Hector Leroux that we have observed at auctions so far.
