Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2007 Christies in London held the auction British & Continental Watercolours & Maritime Paintings, which included the work The shrimper by Hector Caffieri. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,589.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hector Caffieri achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Catching Tiddlers in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,711.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion British & Continental Watercolours & Maritime Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The shrimper von Hector Caffieri zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.080,00 (€ 1.589,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hector Caffieri erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Catching Tiddlers im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.000,00 (€ 26.711,09).
