He Daogen was a painter who studied paintings under Republican period painter Shen Zhongjiang (1893 – 1974) and calligraphy under Mai Huasan (1907 – 1986). He was particularly well-known for his intricate and highly rendered flower paintings.

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sword Lilies by He Daogen was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2016. The price achieved of HKD 18,750.00 (€ 2,284.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 15,000.00 – 22,000.00. Other works by He Daogen have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2019 the work Chrysanthemum was auctioned for HKD 20,000.00 (€ 2,288.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sword Lilies von He Daogen kam im November 2016 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 18.750,00 (€ 2.284,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 15.000,00 – 22.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von He Daogen konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2019 die Arbeit Chrysanthemum für HKD 20.000,00 (€ 2.288,99) versteigert.
