A top price for Hayward Veal
In May 2003 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Streetscape in Rain by Hayward Veal. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 3,290.00 (€ 1,821.16). With this result, Streetscape in Rain is even the most expensive work of art by Hayward Veal that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Mai 2003 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Streetscape in Rain von Hayward Veal zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 3.290,00 (€ 1.821,16) einen neuen Besitzer. Mit diesem Ergebnis ist Streetscape in Rain sogar das teuerste Kunstwerk von Hayward Veal, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
