Eleven triptychs and one diptych: Asahina shima asobi (Asahina's island escapades), triptych, signed Gountei Sadahide ga, published by Yamada Shojiro; another triptych and a diptych depicting Asahina; a chuban triptych of the earth spider tormenting the sick Raiko; along with eight triptychs of various subjects including beauties engaged in making silk, beauties arriving by boat and palanquin for a spring outing, legendary heroes, processions and ritual scenes, variously signed and published--generally good impressions, some faded or toned, soiled, stained, damages

Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work Unknown by Hashimoto Sadahide was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2006, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 3,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at USD 14,400.00 (€ 11,862.59). Admittedly, works by Hashimoto Sadahide have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Amerikakoku Taisen No Zu (A Large American Steamship), 1864.3 in March 2006 with an auction result of USD 57,600.00 (€ 47,450.37).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Unknown von Hashimoto Sadahide im März 2006 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 3.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 14.400,00 (€ 11.862,59) mehr als viermal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hashimoto Sadahide auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Amerikakoku Taisen No Zu (A Large American Steamship), 1864.3 im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 57.600,00 (€ 47.450,37).
