Upper estimate price exceeded by 44 %.
In September 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Japanese and Korean Art, which included the work Unknown by Hashimoto Sadahide. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,880.00 (€ 2,270.04), 44% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hashimoto Sadahide achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Amerikakoku Taisen No Zu (A Large American Steamship), 1864.3 in March 2006 with an auction result of USD 57,600.00 (€ 47,450.37).
