The work Unknown by Hashimoto Sadahide was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2006. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,640.00 (€ 2,080.87), 32% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hashimoto Sadahide achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Amerikakoku Taisen No Zu (A Large American Steamship), 1864.3 in March 2006 with an auction result of USD 57,600.00 (€ 47,450.37).

Die Arbeit Unknown von Hashimoto Sadahide wurde im September 2006 in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.640,00 (€ 2.080,87) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hashimoto Sadahide erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Amerikakoku Taisen No Zu (A Large American Steamship), 1864.3 im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 57.600,00 (€ 47.450,37).
