In March 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Japanese and Korean Art, which included the work Shunzan Fugaku Zu (Mount Fuji In Spring) by Hashimoto Gahō. The »bidding war« ended at USD 5,040.00 (€ 3,886.19), 68% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Hashimoto Gahō have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work CRANES BESIDE A LAKE IN SPRING AND AUTUMN in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 29,229.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 68 % übertroffen
Im März 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Japanese and Korean Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shunzan Fugaku Zu (Mount Fuji In Spring) von Hashimoto Gahō zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 5.040,00 (€ 3.886,19) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hashimoto Gahō auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit CRANES BESIDE A LAKE IN SPRING AND AUTUMN im Dezember 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 29.229,06).
