Auction result misses estimated price range
In April this year a collector was able to acquire the work Eleanor by Harry Callahan for USD 3,048.00 (€ 2,760.87). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Harry Callahan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Trees And Mist (Chicago, Trees In Snow) in June 2010 with an auction result of USD 254,500.00 (€ 207,062.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Eleanor von Harry Callahan für USD 3.048,00 (€ 2.760,87) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Harry Callahan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Trees And Mist (Chicago, Trees In Snow) im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 254.500,00 (€ 207.062,08).
