Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2005 Christies in London held the auction WATERCOLOURS OF THE GRAND TOUR FROM A PRIVATE COLLECTION, which included the work S. Peter's Basilica, Rome (illustrated); The Colosseum, Rome; The Roman Campagna; and Figures observing the falls at Tivoli by Harriet Cheney. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,123.56) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Harriet Cheney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An album of forty-three portrait studies from the circle of the Cheney family (vol. I) in Italy and elsewhere, the sitters including: Marquis and Marchioness of Morando; Teresa, Marchese Morando1; Mme Morando; Lady Elizabeth Foster2, afterwards Eliz in October 2005 with an auction result of GBP 16,800.00 (€ 24,774
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion WATERCOLOURS OF THE GRAND TOUR FROM A PRIVATE COLLECTION durch, in der auch die Arbeit S. Peter's Basilica, Rome (illustrated); The Colosseum, Rome; The Roman Campagna; and Figures observing the falls at Tivoli von Harriet Cheney zur Versteigerung kam. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An album of forty-three portrait studies from the circle of the Cheney family (vol. I) in Italy and elsewhere, the sitters including: Marquis and Marchioness of Morando; Teresa, Marchese Morando1; Mme Morando; Lady Elizabeth Foster2, afterwards Eliz im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.
