Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2005 Christies in London held the auction WATERCOLOURS OF THE GRAND TOUR FROM A PRIVATE COLLECTION, which included the work An album of thirty-two portrait studies of figures from the circle of the Cheney family in Italy and elsewhere, the sitters comprising of: Miss Ditmus; Mrs Wallbanke Childers1; Miss Harriet Kinloch2, afterwards Lady Thomas Hay; Mrs Waller; Mrs Seymou by Harriet Cheney. The price achieved of GBP 6,600.00 (€ 9,733.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00.
