This artwork by Harrie Kuyten achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2004. In the Twentieth Century Art including Belgian Art auction, the work At the beach sold for EUR 19,120.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 7,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Harrie Kuyten; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot View Of The Thorbeckeplein Amsterdam sold at auction in September 2007 with the realized price of EUR 31,450.00.
