Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Harold Steggles achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2008. In the A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation auction, the work St Mark'S Church, Hackney sold for GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,115.88) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Harold Steggles - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Warner Street, London Ec1, which sold at auction in November 2008 for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,312.39).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Harold Steggles erzielte im November 2008 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation wurde die Arbeit St Mark'S Church, Hackney für GBP 1.750,00 (€ 2.115,88) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Harold Steggles mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Warner Street, London Ec1 beobachtet, die im November 2008 für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.312,39) versteigert wurde.
