Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Old Ford Road, Bow by Harold Steggles was worth GBP 3,625.00 (€ 4,382.90) to a buyer in November 2008. This price was achieved in the auction A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 800.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Harold Steggles; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Warner Street, London Ec1 sold at auction in November 2008 with the realized price of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,312.39).
