In March 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work The Artist'S Mother by Harold Gilman. The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,768.74) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Harold Gilman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Interior (Mrs Mounter) in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 485,000.00 (€ 572,252.32).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im März 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Artist'S Mother von Harold Gilman zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.768,74) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Harold Gilman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Interior (Mrs Mounter) im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 485.000,00 (€ 572.252,32).
