Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August this year Bonhams in New York held the auction The Fred and Elinor Wrobel CollectionThe Artist's Eye, which included the work Dynamic Symmetry by Harold Frederick Abbott. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 1,476.00 (€ 880.78), 23% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Harold Frederick Abbott - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self Portrait, 1954, which sold at auction in April this year for AUD 3,690.00 (€ 2,211.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion The Fred and Elinor Wrobel CollectionThe Artist's Eye durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dynamic Symmetry von Harold Frederick Abbott zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 1.476,00 (€ 880,78) und damit 23% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Harold Frederick Abbott mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Self Portrait, 1954 beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für AUD 3.690,00 (€ 2.211,66) versteigert wurde.
