Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2012 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Lavatera, roses, delphiniums, clematis, penstemon and other blooms in a stone urn on top of a pedestal by Harold Clayton. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,000.00 (€ 7,391.39), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Harold Clayton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life With Flowers In A White Pot in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 24,000.00 (€ 35,645.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lavatera, roses, delphiniums, clematis, penstemon and other blooms in a stone urn on top of a pedestal von Harold Clayton zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 7.391,39) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Harold Clayton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life With Flowers In A White Pot im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 24.000,00 (€ 35.645,54).
