Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Gums of the Flinders Ranges by Harold Cazneaux was sold in the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Melbourne in November 2003. It achieved a price of AUD 998.75 (€ 602.50), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Harold Cazneaux - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flower Seller, Martin Place, which sold at auction in August 2004 for AUD 3,226.50 (€ 1,872.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Gums of the Flinders Ranges von Harold Cazneaux wurde im November 2003 in der Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von AUD 998,75 (€ 602,50) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Für andere Arbeiten von Harold Cazneaux mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Flower Seller, Martin Place beobachtet, die im August 2004 für AUD 3.226,50 (€ 1.872,66) versteigert wurde.
