Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2012 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Picture For Heather #1 by Harold Barling Town. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CAD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of CAD 27,000.00 (€ 20,896.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Harold Barling Town have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2012 the work Stretch #1 was auctioned for CAD 42,000.00 (€ 32,821.42).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2012 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Picture For Heather #1 von Harold Barling Town zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von CAD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von CAD 27.000,00 (€ 20.896,46) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Harold Barling Town konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2012 die Arbeit Stretch #1 für CAD 42.000,00 (€ 32.821,42) versteigert.
