The »bidding war« ended at EUR 2,750.00 38% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Harmen Meurs achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Etalagepoppen in June 2001 with an auction result of NLG 105,750.00 (€ 50,828.39).

Die Arbeit Portfolio with ten works on paper depicting Gertrud Leistikow dancing von Harmen Meurs wurde im September 2011 in der Auktion Nineteen to Now including Topographical Observations bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 2.750,00 und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Harmen Meurs erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Etalagepoppen im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 105.750,00 (€ 50.828,39).
