In January 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master & 19th Century European Art, which included the work The Love Letter And Thinking Of Him: Two Paintings by Hans Zatzka. The »bidding war« ended at USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,393.27), 35% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hans Zatzka - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pearls of the Sea, which sold at auction in October 2002 for USD 41,825.00 (€ 42,328.71).

Im Januar 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master & 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Love Letter And Thinking Of Him: Two Paintings von Hans Zatzka zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.393,27) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Hans Zatzka mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pearls of the Sea beobachtet, die im Oktober 2002 für USD 41.825,00 (€ 42.328,71) versteigert wurde.
