Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A View Of A Walled City On An Estuary With Small Vessels In The Foreground by Hans Goderis was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,850.40). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hans Goderis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shipping In Choppy Waters; And A Calm Sea With Sailing Vessels, which sold at auction in November 2005 for EUR 26,400.00.

Als die Arbeit A View Of A Walled City On An Estuary With Small Vessels In The Foreground von Hans Goderis im Dezember 2014 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.850,40) den Besitzer.
