Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Parrot tulips, roses and other flowers in a glass vase with a snail on a table by Hans Bollongier was worth GBP 33,460.00 (€ 54,137.40) to a buyer in April 2002. This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Pictures at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hans Bollongier - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tulips, a rose, bluebells and other flowers in a glass vase on a wooden ledge, with a snail and a caterpillar, which sold at auction in December 2005 for GBP 90,000.00 (€ 130,629.96).
