Auction result misses estimated price range
In July last year a collector was able to acquire the work Flowers in a glass vase on a ledge by Hans Bollongier for GBP 37,800.00 (€ 45,139.91). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Paintings & Sculpture Online at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hans Bollongier - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tulips, a rose, bluebells and other flowers in a glass vase on a wooden ledge, with a snail and a caterpillar, which sold at auction in December 2005 for GBP 90,000.00 (€ 130,629.96).
