Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work A collection of 40 drawings, with a letter and envelope, addressed to M.C.W. Moolenburgh, stamped on 8 July 1960. by H.M. Beatrix van Oranje-Nassau was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2007, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 2,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at EUR 6,850.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by H.M. Beatrix van Oranje-Nassau; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A brown pony in a field sold at auction in December 2009 with the realized price of EUR 8,125.00.
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit A collection of 40 drawings, with a letter and envelope, addressed to M.C.W. Moolenburgh, stamped on 8 July 1960. von H.M. Beatrix van Oranje-Nassau im September 2007 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 2.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 6.850,00 mehr als dreimal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von H.M. Beatrix van Oranje-Nassau; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit A brown pony in a field im Dezember 2009 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 8.125,00.
