In May 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction The Discerning Eye: Property from the Collection of Eric Franck, Part I, which included the work 'Árnyékfestő' (Shadow Painter), 1950S by Gyula Holics. The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,445.62) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Other works by Gyula Holics have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2017 the work 'Redoubled Bottle', C. 1955 was auctioned for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,019.89).
