Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2009 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, which included the work The Flatiron Still Sailing Up Broadway by Guy Arthur Wiggins. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,126.99), 16% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Guy Arthur Wiggins have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work St. Patrick'S And Its Neighbors After Snowfall in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 40,625.00 (€ 28,850.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2009 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Flatiron Still Sailing Up Broadway von Guy Arthur Wiggins zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.126,99) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Guy Arthur Wiggins auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit St. Patrick'S And Its Neighbors After Snowfall im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.625,00 (€ 28.850,93).
