Auction result misses estimated price range
In December last year, a collector was able to acquire the work Paysage près d'Ornans by Gustave Courbet for EUR 119,700. This price was achieved in the auction Collection de Monsieur & Madame Robert Schmit | Œuvres choisies – Session I at Sothebys in Paris and was even below the estimate range of EUR 120,000 – 180,000 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gustave Courbet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Femme Nue Couchée in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 15,285,000 (€ 14,471,691).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Paysage près d'Ornans von Gustave Courbet für EUR 119.700 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Collection de Monsieur & Madame Robert Schmit | Œuvres choisies – Session I bei Sothebys in Paris erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 120.000 – 180.000. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gustave Courbet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Femme Nue Couchée im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.285.000 (€ 14.471.691).
