Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work On the bank of the El Kantara river by Gustave Achille Guillaumet was sold in the 19th Century European & Orientalist Art auction at Christies in London in July 2018. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 22,500.00 (€ 25,227.45). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gustave Achille Guillaumet - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Man in Profile, Algeria, which sold at auction in March last year for GBP 69,300.00 (€ 82,162.95).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit On the bank of the El Kantara river von Gustave Achille Guillaumet wurde im Juli 2018 in der Auktion 19th Century European & Orientalist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 22.500,00 (€ 25.227,45) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Gustave Achille Guillaumet mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Man in Profile, Algeria beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für GBP 69.300,00 (€ 82.162,95) versteigert wurde.
