This artwork by Guo Zhen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Beijing in June 2014. In the Chinese Art auction, the work New Toy sold for CNY 129,800.00 (€ 15,283.97) - well above the upper estimate of CNY 45,000.00. This high result makes New Toy the most expensive artwork by Guo Zhen that we have observed at auctions so far.
