A top price for Gulumbu Yunupingu - as previously expected
In December 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Aboriginal Art, which included the work GANYU (STARS), 2009 by Gulumbu Yunupingu. The price achieved of USD 22,680.00 (€ 18,544.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, GANYU (STARS), 2009 is the most expensive artwork by Gulumbu Yunupingu that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Dezember 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Aboriginal Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit GANYU (STARS), 2009 von Gulumbu Yunupingu zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 22.680,00 (€ 18.544,56) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist GANYU (STARS), 2009 das teuerste Kunstwerk von Gulumbu Yunupingu, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
