A top price for Guillaume Guillon-Lethière
When the work Brutus Condemning His Sons by Guillaume Guillon-Lethière was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2018, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 250,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at USD 852,500.00 (€ 706,062.61). This high result makes Brutus Condemning His Sons the most expensive artwork by Guillaume Guillon-Lethière that we have observed at auctions so far.
