Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2007 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Orientalist Sale, which included the work Une Rue À Constantine by Guillaume-Charles Brun. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 18,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 19,450.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Guillaume-Charles Brun have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work French La Mendiante in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 161,000.00 (€ 118,035.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2007 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Orientalist Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Une Rue À Constantine von Guillaume-Charles Brun zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 18.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 19.450,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Guillaume-Charles Brun auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit French La Mendiante im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 161.000,00 (€ 118.035,19).
