Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A classical armour decorated with amorous couples and Neptune with hippocampi by Guglielmo Della Porta was sold in the Old Master and 19th Century Drawings auction at Christies in London in July 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,962.50 (€ 11,714.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Guglielmo Della Porta have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2010 the work The Judgement Of Paris was auctioned for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 21,041.78).
